Om Shri Sadguru Sai Nathay Namaha,
We have already read two experiences of Imam Chota Khan here and here. Now, let us go through more of Shirdi Sai Baba’s leelas with this devotee.
On his second visit to Shirdi, Imam Chota Khan just wanted to have Sai Baba’s darshan and return quickly. When he reached he saw Mahalsapati and Mausibai were sitting in the divine presence of Sai Baba.
Sai Baba Said to Mausi, “People do not listen to me. Rascles go away and suffer and by a thorn injury lose the parent.”
Sai Baba did not permit him to leave Shirdi. Chota Khan was in hurry and did not listen to Baba. He went away without taking Sai Baba’s permission. Two days after he reached home his mother got stuck by a thorn while she was collecting fuel. Her legs got swollen due to the injury and she died 8 or 10 days later. It was then Imam Chota Khan understood what Baba had said to Mausi regarding not listening to Him and getting into trouble.
He again returned to Shirdi on the 4th day of the death of his mother with the hope of receiving help from Baba. He had no funds and no employment. He wanted the relieve from his financial distress. He stayed on in Shirdi for 34 days also. Then Baba said to Mausi in his presence, “Udi must be received and departure must be taken.” Chota Khan thought that Baba’s word meant for him. It was Sai Baba’s peculiar method to address His words to a person or a group of person. When those words were meant for an individual.
Next day when he approached Sai Baba extended his holy hand full with Udi towards him. Thus it was confirmed that those words for spoken for him. At the time of giving Udi Baba said, “At the doorway of the house there will be an old woman standing. She will give something using which celebration may be performed. Guests have come. The feast should be had in their company. He could not make out the meaning of what Baba had said them.
As he reached home, he noticed the widow of Kazi a very old lady was standing at the door. She put Rs.50/- in his hand and said, “Perform your ceremonies.” That was 40th day of his mother’s death, when a ceremony according to Hindus had to be performed. His four sisters and their husbands had also reached in his absence. These were the guests mentioned by Baba. He performed ceremonies on the 40th day by the money given by the old lady.
He again visited Shirdi after a month also. Baba said to him, “Gulab (Rose) has come to your house.”
When he went back, he found that a male child had born to his wife. He believed the child to be the Gulab mentioned by Baba so, he named the boy Gulab.
